How do television ratings transfer to number of television sets in the Twin Cities TV market?
For example, I am curious how many potential television sets may be turned on if a station gets a 10 share in the Twin Cities market versus a 20 share...

- Remember that "ratings" and "share" measure two different things. "Ratings" measure TV sets turned on relative to total number of households with a TV set. "Share" measures TV sets turned on relative to the total number of TV sets that are on at a particular time slot. So we'd need to know those numbers for the Twin Cities. According to Startribune.com, one rating point equals 16,655 homes. So if you know the rating for the particular show or station you're looking for, you should be able to figure out share.
