Which university is more prestigious? University of Wisconsin Madison or University of Minnesota Twin Cities?

I am looking to major in Communications and eventually become an event planner/coordinater on a large scale (emmy's, grammy's, tournaments, charity benefits, etc). I am deciding between the University of Wisconsin Madison and the University of Minnesota Twin Cities and was wondering which one is the considered the better school/more prestigious. Any opinions on the two schools are appreciated as well! Thanks!

1. University of Wisconsin is much more prestigious and they have an amazing communications program. My comm professor this semester graduated from UW and raved about their comm. Good Luck
2. They are both great schools. I believe UW- Madison has a more prestigious communications program though. The teacher who wrote my public speaking textbook teaches at UW-Madison. However, it depends what type of environment you want to be in. The Twin Cities is quite large. Madison is a small city.
3. UW Madison is a more prestigious school. In rankings Madison is #35 and Minnesota is #61. I believe Madison also has the better Comm Arts program. However if you live in Minnesota it would be cheaper to go there. Also there may be more opportunities to get experience in event planning in Minnesota as the University is in a larger city.
