What other expenses are there when making a budget?

I am making a budget for school assuming you have to live for one month by yourself. Expenses that I included were rent, electricity, heating, telephone, and food. What are other expenses do I have to pay? I am using a bike so don't suggest gas or car expense. Also, on top of my minimum wage job I still have to go to school. Thanks.

  1. Microsoft Excel 2007 has a built-in budget template that's pretty complete. If you don't have Excel, Open Office may have something similar. Otherwise I'd suggest a google search, you'll get more information that way than people can practically post in here.
  2. The best way is to carry around a small notepad for a week and record everytime you spend anything then budget for those expenses. at the top of the list you put your must pays, rent, utilities, credit card payments cell phone bills. and food cost. then put any expenses for school then put the things that you have recorded spending money on.
  3. taxes! entertainment budget- movies, etc. television/cable internet access
  4. Laundry, renter's insurance, personal products, hair cuts, medical, dental, transportation, some places you pay for water, trash pickup
