What are some ideas for a research argumentative paper about twilight?

My english teacher assigned us a 10 page research paper on argumentative subjects. She told us it had to be something we enjoy, and i love the twilight books. So i need some suggestions for topics I could write about, maybe even how romantic novels are affecting teens perspective on life? I want to show my interest for twilight in this paper but have a good argument to support it. Help please!

  1. There are many that say the reason for Twilight's appeal is the lack of both self esteem and a consistent father figure in many teen/tween's lives: 1. Raising Your Child's Inner Self-Esteem: The Authoritative Guide from Infancy through the Teen Years by Karen Owens. 2. Building Self-Esteem in at-Risk Youth: Peer Group Programs and Individual Success Stories by Ivan C. Frank. 3. The Relationship between Friendship Quality and Self-Esteem in Adolescent Girls and Boys, in Sex Roles: A Journal of Research by Jennifer J. Thomas, Kimberly A. Daubman. 13 pgs. Journal Article 4. Pubertal Status, Interaction with Significant Others, and Self-Esteem of Adolescent Girls, in Adolescence by Katica Lackovic-Grgin, Maja Dekovic, Goran Opacic. 10 pgs.
  2. 10 page? Whatever...
  3. Good way to start but think of something... romance novels aren't new and not even what I want to suggest right now... I think. How about the lure of dark figures in romantic novels. That is to say, the whole fascination with vampires in a romantic setting as opposed to their original purpose of being created in the fictional world which was predominantly a fantastic one.
  4. well.. there r some that i think might work.. for example.. 1. Books like Twilight r so hopelessely romantic that they r making young girls believe in fantasy and a "prince" it convays the idea of a happily ever after and in real life that rarely happens.. it also convayes the idea that there is a one true love for everyone but that's not the case in reality.. 2. I'm not a christian but if I were looking at this situation from a religious point of view i'd say that we're being er.. young girls r being corrupted by the "devil" so to speak.. and r being diversed from the "right" path.. 3. The way Stephenie Meyer portrayes 'vampires" is not how the real mithology of vampires.. she has twisted the characterstics of vampires to suit her own purposes and by doing so has made her own "type" of so called "vampires' just look at it.. the main qualities by which a vampire is distinguished in the famous old vampire novels r by their unability to bare sun light.. garlic and mirrirs .. they r only supposed TO DRINK human blood. i mean that's why they r called vampires.. and in twilight all of these characterstics r missing.. so much so that in the book.. Vampires r able to reproduce when they can't even cry a sing tear.. and dont' give me that BS explanation that she did on breakig dawn.. taht's all.. i hope i helped.. =)
  5. I've read the books myself. Maybe you can do something on how parents don't think teens (even though it has a wide variety of readers) should be reading books on romance because it gives us false hope? Just my thought. I would do it on that.
  6. No matter what topic you choose, writing 10 pages arguing the merits of Twilight will be difficult to cite with credible sources. I suggest you choose another book, or argue against Twilight. I have little against the book, I'm simply being realistic. What you want to write about could prove incredibly difficult to write well.
  7. The best kind of paper about Twilight would be pointing out it's flaws. It has a lot, after all.
