do you get a better exchange rate when you exchange more money?

I am going on holiday to Nice (southern france) and was wondering how to get the best exchange rate? I am going with 5 other friends and we need to exchange £320 each so £1920 all together (6*320). If we exchanged together would it be better? Or is it the same no matter how much you exchange? Also if you do get a better exchange rate with more money, how much do you need to exchange??? Would appreciate any answers, suggestions etc. : )

  1. It is the same no matter what. You can get good exchange rates though if you exchange at the right time. Rates change hour by hour day by day. I used to work for western union..and I remember having problems with my system and in 3 times entering the information for a customer (10 minutes total) the exchange rate changed drastically..it went down by 50 bucks then up by 200 on the third try. So just keep tabs on the rates and when they are great jump on it. Go to currency converter.com for daily and current rates!
  2. You have to bargain with the exchange office or with the banker. Ask to different places too. But really the difference is going to be so small, it won´t even pay for a beer. Tens or hundreds of thousands, and then you can talk serious bargaining. First check if it´s better change in England for Euros or your Pounds in France. And next time you vote, do it for those who want to get into the Euro zone.
