Are the twin cities of Perth and Fremantle one town or two distinct cities?
I'm writing an essay on this topic and I would like to get some different opinions on it. Do you think of Perth and Fremantle as being one city or do you think of them as being two different cities? I would I also like to know why you have given me this particular answer. This is for only people who live in Western Australia. I need your answer ASAP. Thanks for all your help!

- I don't live in W.A., but I have been there so I hope it qualifies me to answer your question. They are separate cities, If anything it might be accurate to call Freemantle a suberb of Perth. When I was docked in Freemantle, I had to take a train to get to Perth. The first time I ate at Hungry Jack's was in Freemantle, it was just like eating at Burger King here in the States, only the guys at Hungry Jack's were polite and they got my order right. I love Western Australia.
- I live in Perth and I can safely say that Perth and Freo are 2 separate cities that are about 20 minutes apart :-)
- Don't think of Fremantle as being its own city in the traditional sense, ie - farmland, open spaces surrounding it. But rather an area within Perth, with its own sense of history, architecture, town center and "feel". If i lived in Fremantle and went over east, or overseas, i'd say i was from Perth, not Fremantle.
